SCOPE I

Because it is impossible to build a tool that is valid for every case, the scope of this tool needs to be narrowed. This scope setting step is built for this purpose but is also intended to get you started on thinking about your process! Before filling in the decision tree underneath, it is important you start picturing yourself a part of your company's production line. This could be a unit where they build 1 to 100 products, in a team of 2,3,5, 10... people, or maybe a complete business unit. Give this part of your production line a name for yourself to refer to. Don't think too narrow! Just think about a part of your production facility that you think might be fit for automation with robots or collaborative robots. You can always come back here and go through for another part of your production facility!

Got the process in your head? Remember, don't get too specific. If you have one job, one type of product, or only one employee in mind you are on the wrong foot! This first decision tree underneath is to save you some time. Just answer the questions about the process you have in mind by clicking the yellow answer boxes and see what comes out. If the scope of the analysis tool is not set for your case, this tree will tell you, and you can try filling in the tree again for another process.

One last thing before you get started: Don't worry too much about the exact numbers but make some estimations by doing some quick calculations. You can always go into more detail after you've run through the tool once.

If you made it to the end of the tree by clicking the yellow blocks, please proceed to the next step.
